The Animation Workshop is a 27 year-old animation film school located in Viborg, Denmark.
A part of VIA University College’s School of Creative Industries, it is one of the World’s leading animation institution, with activities in the areas of education, culture, communication and business.
To this effect it benefits from a strong international network of artists, professionals, companies, funding institutions and partner schools.
The International Fund for the Promotion of Culture (IFPC) was created in 1974, in order to give ‘greater prominence to culture in the development of individuals and societies and of strengthening international cultural cooperation’, as well as to provide ‘assistance for artistic creation and cultural activities’.
The IFPC is intended to promote: 1) Cultures as sources of knowledge, meanings, values and identity; 2) The role of culture for sustainable development; 3) Artistic creativity in all its forms, while respecting freedom of expression; 4) International and regional cultural cooperation.
ANDIMATION is one of the 9 initiatives selected by UNESCO IFPC over 850 that were submitted in 2015.
Established in 1958 by the heirs of the great Bolivian industrialist Simón I. Patiño (1860-1947), the Simón I. Patiño Foundation of Geneva fosters research and designs programmes with practical application for Latin America, in particular Bolivia. The foundation is a key partner in ANDIMATION and will be providing work space and support in La Paz, during the production phase of the program.
TIFA is the first International Training Workshop for Animation of the Andean Region . It is a space for knowledge and production exchanges between each of the participating countries.
TIFA is specifically focused on the Andean region in order to strengthen the creation of animated content, and lay the foundation for a strong Andean animation network and content in international markets
The Danish embassy in La Paz represents Denmark in Bolivia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Our main areas of activity are development and citizen service.
